With the combined legacy and newly acquired CIBA businesses, BASF is now the worlds’ largest producer of pigments. BASF products outperform competitors on innovation, value, and performance, including light fastness, migration fastness, color stability, and many other key performance indicators.
BASF’s key pigment product lines include the following high performance organic pigments:
Cinquasia®, Cromophtal®, Irgazin®, Paliogen®, Paliotol®:
These products provide the broadest range of high-performance pigments, combining outstanding coloristic properties with excellent fastness to heat, light, chemicals, and solvents. In addition, certain products offer excellent weather resistance.
Heliogen®:
Heliogen pigments are phthalocyanine blue and green pigments with extremely good fastness and weatherability properties.
Irgalite® and Lithol®:
Classical organic yellow, orange, and red pigments with good end-use performance.
Eupolen®:
Highly concentrated, fully dispersed mono-pigment PO-based concentrates for the manufacture of masterbatches and for direct coloring, intermiscible. Applications include injection and blow molding, films and fibers. Available in low-dusting, free-flowing powder; standard and micro-pellets.
Microlen®:
Pre-dispersed pigment concentrates is especially suitable for polyolefin coloring, can also be processed further into masterbatch for polypropylene silk spinning before coloring.
Euvinyl®:
Optimum-dispersed mono-pigment concentrates for mass coloration of PVC products in challenging applications, particularly in film applications; plasticizer-free.
Microlith®:
preparations series in particular resin as carrier is easy to use,(needs no grinding) and suitable for applications which require good dispersion, transparency and low powder.
Irgaphor®:
Functional Colorants for specialty applications
Neptun®:
Very pure color bases containing an extremely small proportion of insoluble constituents; soluble in acids (e. g., long-chain fatty acids), acid waxes and acid resins, for the brightening of toluene-based gravure inks and ball-point pen inks.
Thermoplas®:
High-purity solvent dyes with only a very small proportion of insoluble constituents, for the mass coloration of thermoplastic and thermosetting plastics, e. g.,styrene polymers (PS, SB, SAN, ABS), PVC-U, polymethyl methacrylate, cellulose derivatives, polycarbonate and unsaturated polyester.
Lumogen®:
Colorants for plastics
Unisperse®:
High strength aqueous in-plant colorants for a wide range of architectural paints and coatings and in the construction industry and residential and commercial paint applications.
Mark-it®:
laser marking pigment
Filamid®:
This series can be dissolved in molten nylon chips(PA-6/PA-66)with good transparency, which is suitable for nylon spinning and injection.
Filester®:
This series can be dissolved in molten PET/PBT with bright color, which is suitable for spinning of polyester, polyester bottle and photosensitive film substrate.
Basacid®:
Basacid is a range of anionic dyes readily soluble in water, in powder form or in highly concentrated solutions.
Key inorganic pigment lines include:
Sicotan®:
Sicotan pigments are rutile nickel and chromium titanium yellow pigments (complex inorganic colored pigments (CICP)). Outstanding properties are their excellent gloss retention, fastness to light and resistance to weathering, chemicals and heat in full shade and all reductions.
Sicopal®:
Sicopal pigments are inorganic yellow or orange pigments for brilliant yellow, orange, red and green shades with good gloss and hiding power.
Sicotrans®:
Sicotrans pigments are extremely finely divided, transparent iron oxide pigments of high purity for use in solid and effect colors.
Sicomin®:
Sicomin pigments are chrome yellow and molybdate orange pigments. Lead chromate/lead sulphate mixed crystals (yellow) and lead chromate/lead molybdate/lead sulphate mixed crystals (red) with good to outstanding fastness properties. Some of the pigments are fast to sulphur dioxide.
